E463 HYDROXYPROPYLCELLULOSE
Hydroxypropylcellulose wird aus Cellulose gewonnen, dem Hauptpolysaccharid des Holzes und allen Pflanzenstrukturen, die auf chemischem Wege propiliert werden.
Im Vergleich zu Cellulose hat es eine bessere Löslichkeit in Wasser (und da es löslich ist, kann es im Darm fermentiert werden).
Hydroxypropylcellulose wird hauptsächlich als Verdickungsmittel, Anti- Aggregations- und Emulgiermittel, aber auch außerhalb des Lebensmittelsektors als Holzkitt verwendet.
Es ist eine Verbindung, die in verschiedenen Produkten enthalten sein kann.
Hohe Konzentrationen von Hydroxypropylcellulose können Darmprobleme wie Schwellung, Verstopfung und Durchfall verursachen.
